New Walk – The Nordic Stroll – Fridays 16:00 – 17:00 Kingston Gate car park
Often people say that they are afraid of joining a guided walk because they don’t want to hold back the group. Well this walk is designed for those who don’t want to be rushed. It’s conducted at a gentle pace, with rest stops if required. Regular catch-up and re-groupings occur to allow people to walk ahead if required.
This class combines gentle Nordic walking with strength and balance exercises suitable for the perambulator. As well as improving your cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength the focus on posture, balance and flexibility will alleviate physical stresses on your body. This is also an effective total body workout for those new or returning to exercise or seeking gentler exercise that accommodates their medical needs. You’ll feel great after completing this walk! You’ll be able to walk and talk but still enjoy the benefits of Nordic Walking.

Normally people who start Nordic Walking like to do a technique course first which consists of 4 lessons spread over 4 weeks, gradually building up the technique and use of the poles. There is a Friday morning course starting on 4 September and a Saturday morning course on 5 September both starting at 11:00 from Kingston Gate car park in Richmond Park.
