goBuzz Nordic Walking is a great way to exercise with like-minded people in the great outdoors such as Richmond Park.  Mark is fully licensed to take groups walking in the Royal Parks which means his insurance, qualifications and risk assessments have all been certified and checked.

Autumn Programme (1 October – 23 December 2018):

Please note there will be no regular walks between 24 December and 1 January.  Walks will resume on 2 January 2019.

09:15 – 10:45 Regular Walk (Grade 3.5*), Roehampton Gate

Thursday

09:30 – 10:30 The Nordic Stroll (Grade 2*), Pembroke Lodge

Friday

09:00 – 10:30 Regular Walk (overall grade 3* but up to 3.5* for lead group), Broomfield Hill

Saturday   09:00 – 10:30 Regular Walk (Grade 3*), Kingston Gate

11:00 – 12:00 Gentle Walk (2.5*), Kingston Gate

*Grading System

The grade (number after title of walk) equates to the maximum speed (mph) that we would achieve during that walk.  It is also the minimum speed that someone joining that walk should be able to maintain for the duration of that walk.  It doesn’t mean to say that we will be walking constantly at that speed.  But we will endeavour to get to that speed as conditions permit.

Next Learn to Nordic Walk Course

Before joining a Nordic Walking group you will need to learn the correct technique.  This can be done in one of 2 ways: 1-2-1 tuition or a formal course.  The course consists of 4 x one hour lessons spread over 4 weeks, gradually building up the technique and use of the poles.  There is a Friday morning course starting on 11 January 2019 (at 11:00 hrs) and a Saturday lunchtime course on 12 January 2019 (at 12:30 hrs) both starting from Kingston Gate car park in Richmond Park.  If you can’t make one Friday you can attend the Saturday lesson instead (and vice versa).

Not sure if Nordic Walking is for you? Taster Walk 

There are currently no taster Nordic walks scheduled.

Lesson one of the Learn to Nordic Walk Course (2 or 3 November) can be used as a Taster Walk for only £12.

Personal training conducted outdoors or from the comfort of your own home/garden.  The goBuzz personal training classes vary as follows:

– Traditional one-to-one

Mark is also a running coach helping people improve their running technique.  He has trained groups and individuals to prepare for marathons as well as those that just wish to make their parkrun a bit easier!

Mark founded goBuzz Nordic Walking and Personal Training in order to share his love of walking. As well as being a Nordic Walking instructor Mark is also a fully qualified Personal Trainer and Mountain Leader. He has been lucky enough to lead groups trekking in the Himalayas, the Alps, Mount Kenya and all the major National Parks in the UK. However, don’t be afraid, the classes are set at a pace commensurate with the fitness levels of those taking part and designed to help you achieve your own personal fitness goals.

Nordic Walking offers huge benefits for people who have reduced fitness due to injury, illness, lack of exercise or confidence; another reason why Mark decided to become an instructor. There is no greater pleasure for a fitness instructor than seeing clients improve and get much more out of each and every day. Nordic Walking can be modified for any level of fitness and ability. If you want to improve your posture, breathing, stamina, mobility, flexibility and tone your muscles then join me in Richmond Park.
